Safety

Every activity we plan in scouting starts with safety, and we use risk assessments extensively to record our anticipated risks and appropriate controls.

No task in life is totally risk free, but we do everything in our power to reduce the risks to an acceptable level.

All our leaders are regularly first aid trained, and high risk activities require permits to demonstrate ongoing competence.

Please see https://www.scouts.org.uk/information-for-parents/stay-safe/ for the scout association policies and procedures related to safety and safeguarding.

Here are a representative set of our risk assessments, your leaders have access to the most recent versions relevant for their section.
